When she was occasionally called on stage to play hand percussion, at the age of 4, by family friend and world famous Cuban Artist & Flutist Jose Fajardo; little did Elva Jones Hahn know that she was answering a greater call on her life. That calling became evident when, at the age of 10, she was given her first guitar and began playing cover tunes and writing songs of her own.
At 17 she joined her brother, drummer Jimmy Jones, and his band Rhythm Express, onstage; performing at local clubs in Houston Texas. She met Brad Evans in 1987 and they began performing as a duo at open mike nights, becoming a regular act at The Last Concert Cafe`.In 1990 she formed a duo with Doug Clark Steiger and they soon became well-known act between Houston and Austin. In 1992-1993 the duo recorded their first individual albums “Waiting To Be Found” and "Is Someone Listening?" and, in 1993, played the main stage at the Kerrville Folk Festival. The duo split in 1994, and Elva moved to Denver, CO, where she joined The Woodies Band, playing the local scene, private parties and charity events. After leaving the band, she decided to go back into the corporate job market until 2005 when the 'music bug' hit her again.
In 2010, she met Audio Engineer, David M. Lohr of DML Audio (www.dml-audio.com) in Littleton, CO. and they soon became friends. She hired David as her Producer and they began recording her CD called "Reality Is...", which was released in June 2013. David M. Lohr is the Sound Engineer and is currently on tour with Neil Young.
Now Elva has teamed up with Award Winning Singer/Songwriter/Musician/Producer Tom Prasado-Rao & Co-Producer Justin K. Roth to record her latest CD called "Every Now & Then" to be released in mid 2016.
