Elva Jones-Hahn
Elva began her music career at the age of 4 where she was asked on occasion by her family’s friend, world famous Cuban Artist & Flutist, Jose Fajardo to play hand percussions with his band. Years later at the age of 10, mother Ena gave her first guitar and she began playing cover tunes and writing her own songs. By the age of 17, she played in her first band with brother and drummer, Jim Jones in the band Rhythm Express and started playing the local clubs.
In 1987, she met and played with Brad Evans at local open mic nights throughout the Houston area and became a regular act at The Last Concert Café. In 1990 she began a duo act with Doug Clark Steiger and soon became a well-known act between Houston and Austin. In 1992-1993 the duo recorded their first individual albums “Waiting To Be Found” and played the main stage at Kerrville Folks Festival.
The duo split in 1994 and Elva moved to Denver, CO, where she joined a local band, The Woodies Band, playing the local scene, private parties and charity events. After leaving the band, she decided to go back to a corporate job until 2005 when the bug hit her again.
